De Kock leads Mumbai to 7-wicket victory over Rajasthan
Mumbai Indians have snapped their two-match losing streak, as they beat Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Thursday (April 29).
Batting first, Rajasthan posted 171 for 4 in their stipulated 20 overs, thanks to noteworthy contributions from all of their top four batsmen.
Captain Sanju Samson was the top-scorer, making 42 off 27 balls with 5 boundaries. Opener Jos Buttler made a 32-ball 41 with 3 fours and as many sixes. Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal also chipped in with 35 and 32 respectively.
For Mumbai, Rahul Chahar took two wickets for 33 runs. Jasprit Bumrah took one wicket and gave away just 15 runs in his four overs, while Trent Boult took one for 37.
In reply, Mumbai cruised to victory with 7 wickets and 9 balls to spare, as Quinton de Kock remained unbeaten till the end, scoring 70 off 50 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes.
Krunal Pandya scored 39 off 26 balls, smashing 2 fours and 2 sixes. Kieron Pollard also made 16 not out off 8 balls.
Chris Morris was the pick of the Rajasthan bowlers, grabbing two for 33. Mustafizur Rahman gave away 37 runs in his 3.3 overs, but was impressive in bowling Pandya out.
With 3 wins out of 6 matches, Mumbai are currently in the 4th position of the ponts table. Rajasthan are at 7th, having won 2 and lost 4 so far.
