Delhi Capitals sign Jagadeesha Suchith to replace injured Harshal Patel
Delhi Capitals have signed former Mumbai Indians player Jagadeesha Suchith as a replacement for the injured Indian fast bowler Harshal Patel for the remainder of the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019.
Slow left-arm orthodox bowler Suchith has played 13 First-Class matches, 14 List A games, and 43 T20s so far and has featured for Mumbai Indians previously in the previous editions of the IPL. The 25-year-old has represented Karnataka State Cricket Association XI in domestic cricket.
Suchith has much experience in the shortest format of cricket as he took 37 wickets in 43 T20 matches with the economy of 7.26 at the domestic level. Above all, he has already played in the IPL before for Mumbai which will help him as well as Delhi to cope with easily.
Suchith played 14 IPL matches in his career and took 10 wickets with the economy rate of 8.97 whereas his best bowling figure is 2/14.
Earlier, Harshal Patel was ruled out of the remainder of the IPL owing to a fracture in his right hand which was mentioned as three to four week injury by the team management. Patel highlighted in two out of the 6 matches for the Delhi this season, grabbing two wickets for 40 runs in the tied match against Kolkata Knight Riders which Delhi Capitals won in a breathtaking super-over. And he took no wicket by giving away 37 runs in a dramatic 14-run loss against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali.
Delhi Capitals will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at Hyderabad tomorrow on April 14.
