The franchise is the weakest franchise in the history of the league. They have failed to make it to the final even once in the last 11 years. However, in a bid to change their luck, Delhi Daredevils have now changed to Delhi Capital ahead of the next season.

The franchise owners arranged a special event to announce the big update about the team to the fans. They have also changed the tagline of the side which now reads, “This is New Delhi”.

The owner of the GMR group Kiran Kumar Grandhi was confident that the new partnership will work wonders for the team. “We’re sure this exciting partnership is going to do good for Delhi’s IPL Team this season. The team has built its young core foundation and they’re now rising at the national level,” he said.

Team’s assistant head coach Mohammad Kaif has also expressed his excitement with the name changing to the Delhi Capitals. “I can’t wait to get started. This team has a promising core and loves the game as much as every cricketing fanatic does,” he added.
