Dhaka Dominators defend 108 to beat Khulna Tigers

Taskin Ahmed took 4 wickets for Dhaka at the cost of only 9 runs. Besides, Nasir Hossain and Al-Amin Hossain got 2 wickets each. Amir Hamza and Salman Irshad had 1 wicket each.

Dhaka Dominators have defeated Khulna Tigers by 24 runs in the second match of the day in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Khulna could not reach the easy target of 109 runs thrown by Dhaka.
Khulna captain Yasir Ali won the toss and sent Dhaka into bat at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Dhaka stumbled at the start of batting. They lost three top-order batters within 8 runs. After that, Soumya Sarkar tried to handle the initial blow with Alex Blake.
Soumya was trying to increase the run-rate but at the other end, Blake was slow. Blake got out after playing a slow innings of 3 runs off 17 balls after the team scored 38 runs. After that, Nasir Hossain, who had been in great form, could not do much. Nasir returned to dressing room after playing an innings of 5 runs from 11 balls after the team scored 78 runs.
But Soumya got his first big run of the tournament. He made fifty. Soumya got out after playing a great innings of 57 runs from 45 balls on a tough pitch. In the end, Taskin Ahmed and Al-Amin Hossain fought for Dhaka. Taskin played an innings of 12 runs off 9 balls. On the other hand, Al-Amin was unbeaten on 10 runs off 11 balls. Dhaka finally crossed the 100-run mark.
Finally, they were all out for 108 runs in 19.4 overs. Among the Dhaka batters, only Soumya, Taskin and Al-Amin managed to reach the double-digit figure. Nahidul Islam bowled brilliantly for Khulna. He bowled 4 overs and took 4 wickets conceding only 6 runs with 2 maidens. Besides, another spinner Nasum Ahmed took 3 wickets at the cost of only 11 runs. Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Saifuddin, and Nahid Rana had 1 wicket each.
In reply, like Dhaka, Khulna's batting collapsed at the beginning. But opener Tamim was playing comfortably. Despite a good start, Tamim could not extend the innings. After playing an innings of 30 runs from 23 balls, Tamim got out. However, Khulna were favorite to win the match as captain Yasir Ali was batting well. But after Yasir’s dismissal, Khulna lost their last 5 wickets for just 17 runs and bundled out for 84 runs in 15.3 overs. Yasir scored 21 runs off 24 balls.

With this victory, Nasir's Dhaka made the history of jointly defending the second-lowest run in the history of BPL.
