Dhaka, Khulna, Rangpur and Sylhet Divisions are leading after Day – 2

Sylhet Division vs Chittagong Division:

At the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury in Chittagong, Sylhet Division is running an upper hand against Chittagong Division in the Tier – 2 match. Replying towering first innings total of Sylhet Division, Chittagong Division is still in disarray, losing 3 wickets, they have scored 115 runs at stumps of Day – 2.

Chittagong Division lost early wickets in the beginning of their run chase; opener Jashimuddin scored 6 before being caught by Jaker Ali off the delivery of Abu Jayed. One down batsman Sazzadul Haque and afterwards Tasamul Haque also departed soon making single run each, leaving the team at 29 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.

Later opener Nafees Iqbal and Yasir Ali together built up an 86 run fourth wicket partnership to restore some of the pride. Both are unbeaten scoring fifties in their respective innings. Nafees Iqbal was slow and steady in approach; facing 115 deliveries, he scored 51 with 3 fours and a six while Yasir Ali is not out in 53, he played 86 balls. Yasir struck 6 fours and a single six.

Earlier and unbeaten double hundred by Alok Kapali mentored Sylhet Division to pile up a massive total of 555 runs in their first innings. The super innings by Kapali is decorated with 10 sixes and 12 fours.

Rajshahi Division vs Rangpur Division:

At the Shahid Chandu Stadium in Bogra, the match between Rajshahi Division and Rangpur Division is evenly poised. At stumps of the second day, Rajshahi Division is trailing by 118 runs in reply to Rangpur Division’s 1st innings total of 351 runs with 9 wickets in their hand.

Playing 9 overs in their second innings, Rajshahi Division lost the wicket of opener Mizanur Rahman; he scored a single run before becoming the victim of Sajedul Islam in the second over of Rajshahi’s innings. Opener Myshukur Rahman and Junaid Siddiqui both are not out scoring 16 and 21 runs respectively.

Prior to that, Rangpur Division scored a first innings total of 351 runs in a whole hearted team effort by their batting line up. Three of their batsmen scored half centuries, the highest was done by Dhiman Ghosh, who unfortunately missed the chance of scoring a hundred by a slender margin. Dhiman scored 97 runs off 123 balls. He struck 15 fours all through the ground.

Other wicket keeper batsman of the team Litton Kumar Das made the second highest score – with the help of 11 fours, Litton Das made 74 off 134 deliveries. Nasir Hossain was the other half centurion in the innings; in the middle order, Nasir scored 68 runs of 97 deliveries. He struck 8 fours.

Khulna Division vs Dhaka Metropolis

At the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, Khulna Division is leading by a huge margin of 357 runs with 7 wickets still remaining in hand. Anamul Haque Jr. completed a superb century to guide his team into a handy total in their second innings. Anamul scored 122 runs in 153 deliveries; his innings is decorated with 12 fours and 5 enormous sixes.

Opening batsman Hasanuzzaman also scored a half century, producing 74 run second wicket partnership with Anamul Haque. Anamul’s 55 came out of 63 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Khulna Division’s dominance is still on the run as Tushar Imran is unbeaten at scoring 73 runs; playing 113 deliveries, Imran hit 8 shots to the boundary.

Earlier Khulna Division’s bowlers exhibited a total authority in the field; all the bowlers used by Khulna Division’s skipper came out successfully with necessary breakthroughs. Sharifullah was the highest scorer with only 38 runs. Abdur Razzak, Ashiquzzaman and Al – Amin Hossain shared 9 wickets among them; taking 3 wickets each.

Dhaka Division vs Barisal Division:

At Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Dhaka Division is facing Barisal Division in the Tier – 1 match. Barisal Division is facing a calamity in chasing down Dhaka Division’s mammoth first innings total of 588 runs. Barisal Division already lost 6 wickets picking up just 101 runs in their first innings.

Former national team bowlers Shahadat Hossain and Mohammad Sharif claimed early wickets in the Barisal Division’s innings to force them fall into a deep trouble to face the huge challenge.

Barisal Division lost their first wicket in 1 run and could not check the falling of wickets since then. The team lost their second and third wicket in 12 and 14 runs respectively before Zakaria Masud and Al – Amin produced a paltry 30 run fourth wicket partnership. After Zakaria departed in the 10th over at the score of 44, Sohag Gazi and Al – Amin also fall quickly before accumulating even hundred runs on the board.

Shahadat Hossain and Mohammad Sharif share 4 wickets between them and Mosharraf Hossain and Nazmul Islam took 1 wicket each.

In their first innings, Dhaka Division mounted a daunting total of 588 runs; two of their batsmen Saif Hasan and Taibur Rahman shared 446 runs between them. Saif scored 204 runs meanwhile Taibur Rahman made 242 runs. Opener Zahiduzzaman contributed with a half century in the initial phase. He made 57 runs.
