Dhaka Metropolis vs Barisal Division

In the second day of Tier – 1 match at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan No – 3 Ground in Savar, Barisal Division, in their first innings, scored 165 for the loss of 5 wickets at stumps in reply to Dhaka Metropolis’ total of 292 runs in their first innings. Barisal Division slipped in the beginning of the innings; Dhaka Metropolis’ bowler Elias Sunny acquired the breakthrough in the second over of the innings, picking up opener Shahin Hossain before he opened up his account. Other opener Shahriar Nafees, together with one down batsman Fazle Mahmud structured the 66 run second wicket partnership.

Shahriar Nafees and Fazle Mahmud scored 32 and 38 respectively. Al – Amin and Monir Hossain has kept Barisal Division’s hopes alive for the second day; both of them are unbeaten; Al – Amin scored a not out 45 meanwhile Monir Hossain is unbeaten at 40.

Earlier Dhaka Metropolis was able to add 37 more runs with their overnight score of 255 runs. Mehrab Hossain Jnr who was not out scoring 48 runs, completed his half century and ended at 61 runs; he was one of the hunts of Monir Hossain who claimed 5 wickets conceding 51 runs in the match.

Dhaka Division vs Khulna Division

In the second match of Tier – 1 at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, Khulna Division made up 195 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their first innings at stumps of Day – 2 against Dhaka Division. Dhaka Division accumulated a huge 366 runs in their first innings.

Mehedi Hasan and Hasanuzzaman built up a solid 71 run opening partnership for Khulna Division before both of them fall for Dewan Sabbir. Mehedi Hasan and Hasanuzzaman scored 37 and 31 respectively.

After Anamul Haque Jnr got out cheaply scoring 12 runs, Tushar Imran manufactured a sturdy half century. He is unbeaten scoring 71 runs playing 93 deliveries with 11 shots of four.

Before that, a pair of centuries by two middle order batsmen of Dhaka Division Raqibul Hasan and Saif Hasan facilitated the team’s built up a strong first innings. Saif Hasan completed his ton in the morning of the second day as he was not out scoring 89 runs in the previous evening. Saif played 236 deliveries towards his 109 runs, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes.

Chittagong Division vs Rajshahi Division:

At the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong, Chittagong Division is facing Rajshahi Division where the home team is in an advantageous position at the end of the second day. Rajshahi Division is still trailing by 92 runs with just 2 wickets in hands to start at the third day of the match.

Rajshahi Division’s downfall continued from the very beginning of the innings and continued up to the stumps of the second day losing 8 wickets scoring just 223 runs, 92 runs behind from Chittagong Division’s first innings of 315 runs.

Rajshahi Division’s opener Myshukur Rahman played 4 deliveries but departed without scoring a single run. Other opener Jahurul Islam top scored with his 90. Playing 158 deliveries, Jahurul was close to his hundred but unfortunately caught by Mojibur Rahman off the delivery of Kazi Kamrul Islam.

One down batsman Junaid Siddique Imrose also completed his half century; he scored 62 off 108 balls.

In the earlier phase of the game, Chittagong Division played well in the morning of the second day of the four day match, added 38 runs in their last 2 wickets. Hossain Ali scored a fine cameo knock of 20 in the late order to life Chittagong crossing 300 run mark.

Saqlain Sajib of Rajshahi Division claimed a fifer in the match; he picked up 5 wickets conceding 54 overs. Sajib provided 8 maidens delivering 29.2 overs in the innings.

Sylhet Division vs Rangpur Division:

The second match of Tier – 2 is taking place between Sylhet Division and Rangpur Division at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet. The home team has gained advantage from the condition and having a lead of 97 runs over Rangpur Division at the end of the second day of the four day match.

Chasing the first innings total of Sylhet Division, Rangpur Division ended up scoring 175 runs for the loss of 5 wickets playing 54 overs of the day.

Left out national team all-rounder Nasir Hossain hammered a brilliant century and still in the crease to continue the good run in the third day as well. Facing 160 deliveries, Nasir put up 105 runs with 14 fours and a single six. Nasir Hossain rescued Rangpur from initial disaster. The team lost 4 wickets at the score of 29 runs when Nasir Hossain produced a wonderful fifth wicket partnership of 78 runs with Dhiman Ghosh.

The partnership was however dominated by Nasir Hossain, he contributed 52 runs in the 78 run partnership, while Dhiman scored 26 runs (65 balls, 4×3). Nasir Hossain played 160 deliveries for his unbeaten 105 runs. Among the five wickets Rangpur Division lost, Khaled Ahmed captured 4.

Earlier Sylhet Division added 69 runs with their overnight score of 203. The last four batsmen of Sylhet, Rahatul Ferdous scored highest 36 runs. Jaker Ali, who was unbeaten on the other day at the score of 63 runs, ended up at 88.
