Dhawan to stay with Indian team in England
Indian left-handed opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan is set to stay with the Indian team in England and he will be under the observation of team management.
India have started their World Cup campaign with two back to back wins againt South Africa and Australia. But the team has stuck with a massive blow with an injury to the opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan, who injured his thumb during the game against Australia.
The news has put every Indian fans into deep shock and he is said to unavailable for two weeks or three weeks. And some reports suggested that Rishabh Pant might be called as the replacement for the injured opener.
But according to the latest tweet from BCCI, the opener will be put under the observation of team management and he will be watched closely. Further no replacement is called for now and it will be decided within a few days after watching Dhawan’s progress.
Now the thing is the left handed opener will not play the game against New Zealand on Thursday. India will definitely be desperate to see Dhawan recovering as quickly as possible. Dhawan is not only in good form at the moment but has also a fantastic track record in the ICC tournaments. Dhawan was the top score in the last two Champions Trophy held in England.
