Difference lies in the ability of handling everything: Mashrafe
For him, the inspiration is always there – in the cricket field – he defeated physical limitations of an athlete long ago, the obstacles of age for a sportsman and thus Mashrafe bin Mortaza knows how to capture moments thereupon.
At the age 34, Mashrafe once again came in the limelight breaking young pacer Abu Hider Rony’s record to become the highest wicket taker in the Dhaka Premier League in a season.
Sorting out the successful domestic run, Mashrafe bin Mortaza said, “At the beginning of the season, I knew I have had good opportunities to play in the whole league. I was out of the Nidahas Trophy because of not availability in T20Is.
“I wanted to take a good preparation before the coming limited over series. Playing in the Dhaka Premier League was very important to me. The more important is that everything is going fine so far,” he said.
Differentiating between he and other fast bowlers of the country, Mashrafe bin Mortaza pronounced the difference lies not in the way of playing but in the aspect of managing everything well.
“If you say about my bowling, there are nothing new in there. The differences created in the ability of administering everything around more efficiently. It comes with the experience. It could be the exercise – gymnasium, running. When someone plays for long time, these things facilitate the performance in the field,” Mashrafe said.
In this year’s Dhaka Premier League, Bangladesh limited over captain claimed 38 wickets in an economy rate of 4.39 appearing in 15 matches.
