Domestic cricket to commence along with SL series

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced to start domestic cricket within very short time. Bangladesh is scheduled to tour Sri Lanka and hence the domestic cricket will also commence at the same time even if the team doesn’t tour to Sri Lanka the league will start very soon. The BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury Sujan confirmed the matter.

DPL rounds 4-6 dates revised

After the inception of Coronavirus pandemic in country’s cricket arena, all forms of cricket were postponed back in March. The BCB could not get over the 2019-20 season of the Dhaka Premier League due to the pandemic even though the time for another new domestic season was almost over. But the board has to get over the pandemic and all set to start very soon.

Before this , the BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon said the Tigers will not proceed with Sri Lanka tour if they don’t cooperate. In that case, the cricketers will be brought back to the game with domestic cricket. This time, the chief executive of the board said, even though Sri Lanka is a series, domestic cricket will be played at the same time.

Nizamuddin Chowdhury has confirmed that, if Sri Lanka is not implemented in due time, the cricketers will be keep practicing in bio secured bubble.

“We have other plans if the series doesn’t go accronding to schedule. The players will continue to practice in bio secured bubble. Sri Lanka is the host, they will decide the tour. They also have a domestic tournament. The decision has to be taken after considering everything.”

“We are also planning domestic cricket. We have plans for domestic cricket even if Sri Lanka series is commenced on the field.” He added.
