Domingo reveals Bangladesh’s batting line-up for Rawalpindi Test
Bangladesh won’t get Mushfiqur Rahim in Pakistan, who was the most successful batsman of Bangladesh in last November’s Test series against India. So the big question of the Rawalpindi Test, which will start on February 7, is who will handle the middle order of Bangladesh.
Pakistan’s coach Misbah-ul-Haq had picked-up an off-spinner in the squad by predicting Bangladesh’s batting lineup early because there had been much left-handers in Bangladesh. The team that Russell Domingo had given today, however, showed more number of right-handed batsmen than left-handed batsmen. Three of the first four were left-handed, but then most of the batsmen were right-hander in the Bangladesh squad.
At the official press conference Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur today before visiting Pakistan, head coach Russell Domingo revealed who could play,
“I’m considering Mominul at four at that moment. I want Shanto to play in the match. He’ll probably play at three. Mithun and Mahmudullah at five and six. Then Liton might be at number seven. That might be the Rawalpindi Test batting lineup.”
Saif Hassan will be making his debut with Tamim Iqbal, who had returned to the Test squad after a long time. The head coach had also indicated this.
Besides, almost everyone in the batting order had satisfied the head coach. Tamim Iqbal, Mominul Haque, Mohammad Mithun, Mahmudullah and Liton – all scored big runs in the first round of Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL).
