Domingo urges for pace bowling all-rounder in Test team

“I definitely think the team need to find an all-rounder that will balance the team. Of course Shakib is such a player, but we have to find someone who will bat at No. 6 and can also bowl pace. It is very necessary to play especially outside the country. Which we do not have at the moment,” he said.

He has also talked about the difficulties they faced in Shakib Al Hasan’s absence. Star all-rounder Shakib was playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Indian Premier League (IPL) during Bangladesh’s Test series against Sri Lanka as the all-rounder took the leave before the series to play the biggest franchise-based tournament in cricket.

“There will always be criticism if you lose. Of course it was difficult to find a balance without Shakib. You may have had to play a bowler or a batsman less in absence of him,” Domingo added.

Pacer Mustafizur Rahman also took part in IPL for Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the same time. He has played all the matches for Rajasthan Royals. He has done great bowling in the IPL and took regular wickets so far till the IPL has been suspended indefinitely on Tuesday considering the COVID-19 outbreak inside the bio-bubbles of the franchises.

Domingo also praised Mustafizur for his performance in the IPL. “I see some nice cutters in Mustafizur’s bowling. That kind of wicket is helping a bowler like him quite well. It’s good to see him like that in the tournament so far,” he said.
