DSports stops PSL broadcast in India

The official broadcaster of Pakistan Super League (PSL), DSports has stopped broadcasting the matches in the wake of Pulwama attack.

Over 40 CRPF personnel were killed in the Pulwama terror attack in India and the relationship between Pakistan and India have got even worse.

During the third day of the league, DSports stopped the broadcast and announced that they will not do it for the rest of the tournament as a mark of protest.

It came as a surprise when, DSport was not telecasting the match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings match, which had started at 9.30 pm on Saturday. Soon after a few minutes, DSports announced that they will not broadcast the PSL matches anymore.

“We’ve suspended the broadcast of PSL. We’re seized of the matter and it is a topic that is occupying our minds and we’re sensitive to the national issues and we’re considering how to do it. There are a few technical issues involved,” the channel said.

DSports also informed that they were about to suspend from Friday, but they couldn’t do so due to some technical issues. The India feed was apparently linked to some other countries as well and extricating the India feed from the other countries was not immediately possible.
