Duminy backs De Kock’s captaincy
Former South Africa all-rounder JP Duminy backs South Africa limited-overs captain Quinton de Kock’s captaincy and says that South Africa will see success soon with his captaincy.
He praises Kock’s cricketing knowledge. “He has a genius brain with regards to cricket,” Duminy told Sport24.
“He sees things that not a great deal of us see on a cricket field. The significant thing for him is to see how to verbalize that and to get the upfront investment from different players. At the point when you have this virtuoso brain, once in a while it’s a hit and miss with players since you witness things before they.
“That will be the quality of his leadership in the event that he gets players getting tied up with specific techniques and plans. Everyone has their qualities and he will be totally different to a Faf.”
Quinton de Kock-led South Africa lost two consecutive series against England and Australia. But Kock showed the glimpse of his captaincy in these two series. And he’s likely to lead the team again in this year’s T20 World Cup in Australia starting in October.
“Leadership is tied in with serving your team-mate and they have to find how that is going to look and locate the correct mixes, especially paving the way to a World Cup. I’m almost certain that the squad will be one that truly contends at that competition,” said Duminy.
