Bangladesh batsmen are consistently failing in Tests. In the first innings of the first Test against the West Indies, six Bangladeshi batsmen scored no runs.
At a press conference after the match, captain Shakib Al Hasan said that this was due to technical problems of the players. This time Naimur Rahman Durjoy, BCB director and chairman of hyper performance unit agreed with Shakib.
The batsmen of Bangladesh have been squandering their wickets when they do not understand the swing or turn of the opposing bowlers. Consistently Tiger batting unit is not doing well.
This time Durjoy also agreed with Shakib’s statement and admitted to the technical problems of the cricketers. He said,
“Shakib is absolutely right. Because there are some special sectors in Test cricket. The fast bowlers have to swing the ball, the spinners have to turn the ball."
At the same time, Durjoy told the players to play considering the situation and not just follow the fixed theory. "Bowling in a flat style like ODIs, T20s, which doesn't work well in many places like Tests," he added. “The kind of wicket we play at home, the same ball that behaves, the same will not behave in the West Indies wicket or the South African wicket. We have to work out separately for that condition. We have to take a different strategy.”
"We said that fast bowlers have to swing the ball but the bowlers of other teams will do the same. To manage that, our batsmen have to have that technique, that quality. Everyone has to have these preparations.”
