As per English media reports, the speed star is set to earn more than £1 million a year from the central contract on top of the £800,000 he gets for his IPL deal with Rajasthan Royals.

Star all-rounder Ben Stokes is England’s highest-paid cricketer when his Indian Premier League deal is taken into account.

However, the new central contracts will be inclined towards Test cricket in order to prevent English cricketers from draining out playing franchise Twenty20 leagues around the world.

The basic value of a Test and white-ball contract will be £925,000 before win bonuses and match fees.

A fiery Archer stole the headline several times demolishing Australian batting a number of times in this yea’s Ashes through which the young gun made his Test debut.

England all-rounder Moeen Ali expressed how Archer makes the big difference in English cricket saying,

“Jofra is amazing. He just makes good batters do different things, that pace he has is incredible. He is the fastest I have ever faced. It is unbelievable. He gives us that something else, he can win you games even if he goes for a few runs. Knowing you have him in your side makes a big difference.”

The fourth Ashes Test begins on Wednesday with the five-match series tied up at 1-1.
