England announce T20 side to face India, Australia

The England Cricket Board (ECB) announced the T20 squad to play the one-off match against Australia and three-match series against India. While the fast-bowler Mark Wood has been rested, Jake Ball has been included in the squad as the replacement and might make his T20 debut.

Sam Billings, who has not been able to perform in the ODI series against Australia, dropped from the squad. Sam Curran, who made his Test debut against Pakistan, has been included in the T20 squad. The Curran brothers will be the first pair to play International cricket for England in the 21st century.

The players like Dawid Malan, James Vince and Liam Dawson, who played against New Zealand earlier this year, have been ignored by the selectors.

The English all-rounders Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes, who has been suffering from the injuries, have been ruled out of the T20 series. Ben Stokes will be a part of squad once he recovers from the injury.

India’s tour of England will begin with three-match T20I series. The first T20I game will be played on July 3 in Manchester before playing the 2nd and 3rd T20I games in Cardiff and Bristol respectively.

India had announced their T20I squad for Ireland and England series. While Washington Sundar retained his place, the IPL performer Siddarth Kaul earned a spot in the national team.
