England announces Squad for first test, Moeen and Bairstow miss out
After the Coronavirus hit back in cricket arena, cricket was off from the field for a long yime. With the first Test between West Indies and England, cricket will be on the field once again. Ahead of the first test, England has announced a 13 members squad.
ECB has named Ben Stokes as their captain for the first Test of the three-match Test series against the West Indies.Wicketkeeper-batsman Johnny Bairstow and all-rounder Moin Ali have been dropped from the squad for the first Test.
Bairstow has been dropped from the squad for the first Test of the series. The wicketkeeper batsman has been going through bad time with the bat since the last Ashes series . He failed to do well, even in the practice match with the bat. Due to which Bairstow has been dropped from the squad. Although, after a long break from the Test, he was desperate to return in the swuad, but couldn’t find his place in the team.
All rounder Moeen Ali also had a bad time in the Ashes series. Opener Rory Burns has returned to the squad for the first Test. Two fast bowlers James Anderson and Mark Wood has returned on the squad.
Pace bowling All-rounder Ben Stokes will lead England in the absence of regular captain Joe Root. Meanwhile, Joe Root is not playing the first Test to be with his pregnant wife, but will join the team before the second Test.
The first Test will be held on July 7 in Southampton. England and West Indies will play the second match on July 17 in Manchester. The last match of the series will held on July 24 at the same stadium.
