Due to this shuffle, England won’t be able to tour Pakistan as fixed earlier. Now both ECB and PCB came to a conclusion and decided to have a two-match T20I series between both teams in Pakistan during October 2021. The two games are scheduled on October 14 and 15. It will be England’s first outing in Pakistan after 16 long years.

“It’s a real pleasure to announce that the England men’s IT20 squad will be playing in Pakistan in October 2021. This will be the first time since 2005 that an England team has toured Pakistan and as such it represents a significant moment for both nations,” Tom Harrison, ECB’s Chief Executive said.

PCB’s Chief Executive Wasim Khan believes that the successful T20I series will open doors for long ODI and Test tours for England in Pakistan. Notedly the T20I series will be coming prior to the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, which is scheduled to be played in India.

“I am delighted to confirm that England will be touring Pakistan to play two T20s in October 2021. This will be their first visit to Pakistan for 16 years and will open the door for both Test and White Ball tours in the 2022-23 season,” Wasim Khan said.
