England rest Buttler, Stokes for Windies T20Is

England have rested their key players Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes for the upcoming T20I series against Windies to be played after the ongoing ODI series.

England clinch win

England are now in a long tour to Caribbean Islands for all three formats of the game. The visitors had a shocking Test series since the hosts completely outplayed them in the longest version of the game.

Following the Test series, England are now sweating out in the ODI series as a part of their tour. After the ODI series, England will play a three-match T20I series which starts on March 5th.

Ahead of the T20I series, England Cricket Board has named a 14-man squad to be led by Eoin Morgan. England are aiming to rest their key players in this series considering the mega event ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 to be played in their home.

As a part of the decision, Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler have been given rest for the T20I series. Kent’s Sam Billings and Middlesex’s Dawid Malan make their returns to the squad for the first time since last year’s Trans-Tasman Tri-series between Australia and New Zealand.

Still Joe Root’s name can be found in the list since the Test skipper is having some bad times in the shortest format of the game at International level. But his place in the playing XI is not sure as he last played his overseas game in this format back in 2017 against India.

England T20I Squad: Eoin Morgan (C), Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Sam Billings, Tom Curran, Joe Denly, Alex Hales, Chris Jordan, Dawid Malan, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, David Willey, Mark Wood
