The tournament comprises six teams — Dhaka Metro, All-Stars and four divisional teams – from Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi and Khulna – drawn from legendary retired cricketers of Bangladesh.
Of the 15 members for each team, the organisers earlier finalized the names of six players including a captain and a mentor in the team while the remaining nine players were recruited through the players draft on Tuesday.
Players who participated in the Dhaka Premier League for at least 5 years were eligible for the players draft. Former national cricket team members or ‘A’ team players were entered automatically.
The first phase of the tournament is expected to be held at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium, Cox’s Bazar from September 1 to 3. The semifinals will be held at the same venue while the final is most likely to be held at Mirpur’s Home of Cricket under artificial lights.
