Virender Sehwag

Finch was recently asked to pick 11 players and he straightaway picked India opener Virender Sehwag as the former feels that the latter would be his first pick in the team alongside Adam Gilchrist. Rohit Sharma who has a formidable batting average against Australia in ODIs didn’t make the cut in Finch’s XI.

Aaron Finch said that he would love to watch Virender Sehwag and Adam Gilchrist bat together. Ricky Ponting and Virat Kohli are chosen as the number three and four batsmen by Finch.

“Sehwag is my number one pick. He was so dominant. As soon he was on, the game was over. I want to go with Rohit Sharma, his record is amazing but I want to watch Adam Gilchrist open with Virender Sehwag. I will go with Ricky Ponting at 3 and Virat Kohli at 4,” Aussie opener Aaron Finch told Sports Tak.

Hardik Pandya, Andrew Symonds, Brett Lee, Jasprit Bumrah and Glenn McGrath have been picked in Finch’s combined India-Australia ODI XI.

Meanwhile, Finch was also asked to speak about MS Dhoni. The former Indian captain hasn’t played a single competitive game since the semifinal of 2019 World Cup and there is still no uncertainty over his future. Due to ongoing coronavirus, cricket may take at least some months to resume and it remains to see when MS Dhoni will get another opportunity to perform.

In reply, Aaron Finch didn’t make any comment on MS Dhoni while also adding that he loves watching MS Dhoni bat.

“I am not sure, I honest don’t know about what MS Dhoni has being doing but Jesus great player, I love watching him but I can’t answer that because I just don’t know,” said the Australia star.
