Finn ruled out of Ashes tour

With the Ashes right around the corner, England have got a huge blow as fast bowler Steven Finn is ruled out of the series due to injury in his left knee.

Many hoped all rounder Ben Stokes will be called up back as Finn’s replacement but it didn’t happen so as England have called up uncapped Surrey fast-bowler Tom Curran.

Though Curran has played for England in T20I and ODIs, he is yet to make his debut in the longer format of the game.

Finn will return home to England in next few days while Curran will fly out to Australia on Wednesday. The young faster bowler as been preferred over to Liam Plunkett, Mark Wood and Tom Helm.

Curran’s Ashes call-up means that his participation in the upcoming Big Bash, when he was due to play for Hobart Hurricanes, will now have to be cancelled.

The Ashes series will begin on 23rd November at Brisbane. After the Test series, they will also play 5 match ODI series starting from 14th January.
