‘First and final warning for 2020’, Ashwin after sparing Finch from ‘Mankad’ dismissal

Delhi Capitals (DC) spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has warned that it is the first and final warning of 2020 regarding the ‘Mankad’ dismissal as he spared Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) opener Aaron Finch yesterday in Dubai.

Ashwin created a big controversy last year in IPL after he mankaded Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Jos Buttler. Ashwin as then Kings XI Punjab’s (KXIP) captain. But before the start of this year’s IPL, DC coach Ricky Ponting warned Ashwin about ‘Mankad’ incident.

So, after yesterday’s incident it was become a huge talking point on the social media. Ashwin also tweeted about the incident and gave an alert to all the batsmen. “Let’s make it clear !! First and final warning for 2020. I am making it official and don’t blame me later on. @RickyPonting #runout #nonstriker @AaronFinch5 and I are good buddies btw,” Ashwin said on Twitter.

The 34-year old spinner returned to the team yesterday after three matches as he got injured in DC’s first match. He made a great comeback as he took 1 wicket conceding just 26 runs in 4 overs. Delhi also beat Bangalore by 59 runs.
