Only Batsman to score 1000 runs in BPL History

Mushfiqur Rahim, skipper of Barisal Bulls, became the first Bangladeshi batsman to reach 1000-run milestone in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on Monday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. [Read in Bangla: বিপিএলে প্রথম ব্যাটসম্যান হিসেবে মুশফিকুর রহিমের কীর্তি]

He touched the landmark of 1005 runs from 35 innings with 7 half centuries whereas his strike rate is 41.87.
Mushfiq scored 234 runs for Duronto Rajshahi from 9 innings with 34.00 strike rate in the first edition of BPL with a single half century. In the second edition of BPL, he played for Sylhet Royals. He was the highest run with 440 runs from 13 innings. He played his best innings of 86 runs.

He did not score well in the 3rd BPL tournament for Sylhet Super Stars. He scored 157 runs only. Mushfiq has already score more runs than his previous season in only four matches. In this ongoing 4th edition of BPL, he is playing for Barisal Bulls. He made a half century in the first match against Dhaka Dynamites. Also played an extraordinary innings off 81 runs from 52 balls against Rajshahi Kings with 4 over boundaries and 5 boundaries in the 3rd match.

Shakib Al Hasan is in second spot with 775 runs in 38 matches, followed by Anamul Haque in 3rd place off 762 runs in 40 matches.The other bastmen to score 700+ runs are Brad Hodge (756), Mahmudullah (746), Nasir Hossain (727), Shahriar Nafees (721), and Jahurul Islam (706)

Mushfiq is also among the batsmen to score maximum fifties in BPL. He was in top of the chart with 7 fifties along with Brad Hodge and Tamim Iqbal before the match, but moved to second after Tamim scored another in the match yesterday.

The wicket-keeper batsman was fighting with his own since Icc Cricket World Cup. The run machine was unable to contribute much in the memorable home series against India, South Africa in home soil. He was also out of form in Icc World Twenty/20.
