Former Indian cricketer and present head coach of the Indian Cricket Team, Ravi Shastri is often criticized in his coaching career, even by Indian fans. The head coach has also found himself in some controversies, which allow fans to mock him.

His contract period is extended until the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, which will be played in India. At the end of the contract period, there is a high chance for appointing a new head coach for India, unless the Indian team and BCCI decides to stick with the current setup.

1. Rahul Dravid

Of course, the one common name spelled by Indian fans in the aspect is none other than Rahul Dravid. The former Indian batsman did an exceptional job as the head coach for the India U19 team and guided the team for trophy win ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2018. Currently, he is serving as the head of the National Cricket Academy.

He is handed over the responsibility of NCA to groom the youngsters. But it will be a bigger one for the Indian team if he can serve as head coach of India for at least two years. At this phase, the next generation cricketers like Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj are coming into the side. Having Dravid as the head coach in this phase will seed a strong basement for the next decade. Rahul Dravid’s presence will be an X factor for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
