Four Bangladeshi cricketers to play in Asia XI
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is organizing a two-match T20I series between Asia XI and World XI to mark the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The special T20I series will be held in Dhaka next March. Both the T20Is will get International status.
In this special series, four Bangladeshi cricketers will play for Asia XI.
If all things go right, the three players from Bangladesh will be- Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad. The other cricketer name is still unknown but it is confirmed that there will be a bowler with these three cricketers. Shakib Al Hasan will not be available due to ICC ban.
There will be no Pakistani cricketer in Asia XI as at the same time Pakistan’s franchise-based domestic tournament Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be going on. So Asia XI will be comprised of cricketers from Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan, apart from Pakistan.
The two Mujib Hundred T20I match is scheduled to be held at the Sher-E-Bangla National Stadium on March 19 and 21.
