Four Indians in Hogg’s current best Test XI, but no Kohli in de Kock-led side
The controversy between Pakistan captain Virat Kohli and Pakistan captain Babar Azam has been going on in the cricket arena for the last few days. According to some, Kohli is the best, while others think that Babar Azam will surpass Kohli.
Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg has added fuel to the fire. He has placed Babar in the best Test XI of his own choice. But he did not give place to Kohli. Not only that, even though Kohli is not in his favorite XI, there are four Indian cricketers.
“I put Babar in the XI because he scored a century in Brisbane during Pakistan’s tour of Australia last year,” he said. “It is very difficult for anyone touring the Brisbane wicket to perform. However, he has proved his ability. That is why he is one of the best at present.”
He also said that the reason for not keeping Kohli was,
“I know everyone will ask why Virat Kohli is not there.” “However, if you look at his last 15 innings, you will see that he has managed to score more than 31 runs only four times. That’s why I don’t have Kohli in this year’s XI.”
Hogg’s current best Test XI:
Mayank Agarwal (India), Rohit Sharma (India), Marnus Labuschagne (Australia), Steve Smith (Australia), Babar Azam (Pakistan), Ajinkya Rahane (India), Quinton de Kock (South Africa, Captain, Wicketkeeper), Pat Cummins (Australia), Mohammad Shami (India), Neil Wagner (New Zealand) and Nathan Lyon (Australia).
