Gayle 25 short of achieving 10,000 T20-run landmark

West Indian powerhouse Chris Gayle is on verge of becoming the first batsman ever to score 10,000 runs in the T20 format. With smashing 9975 T20 runs playing for West Indies and different leagues, he is just 25 runs short of achieving the glorious landmark.

The tall Jamaican has 18 centuries and 60 fifties registered to his name, and it will be fitting if the West Indian brings up his 10,000th T20 run in the match against Kings XI Punjab today. He has smashed 797 runs against them, the most by any batsman against a single IPL opponent and has scored two of his five IPL hundreds against Punjab as well.

Gayle is yet to do justice to his pyrotechnics in the 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL). His scores in two matches of the 2017 edition are 32 and 6. But a small ground like that in Indore would just be the perfect platform for him to set the stage on fire.
