Gayle recovers from stomach infection, likely to play against RCB
Kings XI Punjab are not performing well at the moment. Be it batting, bowling or fielding, they have been terribly bad in all aspects of the game. Despite the fact that KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal have been chipping in with decent contributions with the bat, there is a big hole in the ship that needs to be sorted out soon.
Now, their chances of qualifying for the playoffs look bleak as they have already lost 6 games in seven matches they played so far in the United Arab Emirates. Their only win came against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Lokesh Rahul-led team were super good against Virat Kohli-led team. KL Rahul came through with flying colours where he scored a century to help his team beat RCB by 97 runs.
After the victory against RCB, Kings XI Punjab lost five games in a row. Now, for Kings XI Punjab to make the cut in the playoffs, they will have to play really well in the upcoming games.

As far as the last season is concerned, Chris Gayle was Kings XI Punjab’s second-highest run-scorer behind KL Rahul. Gayle scored 490 runs from 13 games. In his first season with Kings XI Punjab, Chris Gayle hit as many as 368 runs including a century and three fifties.
It will be interesting to see how Kings XI Punjab manage with the team combination as if Gayle comes, then he is expected to replace Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who had the worst season with the bat so far. He managed to score 58 runs in seven matches.
