‘Good evening from Gabba,’ Ashwin hits back Paine

Indian right-arm off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin nailed a fitting reply to Tim Paine’s words behind the stumps during the third Test at SCG.

Rahane and his men clinched a memorable Test series win to retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy. India won the Gabba Test by three wickets and conquered the four-match series 2-1. With the series win, India have won back to back Test series wins on Australian soil.

The series was neven sort of actions and entertainment. It started with a hectic batting collapse by Indian batsmen at Adelaide and ended with a historical run chase at Gabba to finish the series. And there wasn’t a shortage of verbal banters too.

In the third Test, where Ravichandran Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari put up an unbeaten partnership for a dramatic draw, Australian captain Tim Paine involved in some exchange of words with Ravichandran Ashwin.

While Ashwin was on crease, Paine wanted to distract Ashwin’s concentration and started to talk about the Gabba Test. “Can’t wait to get you to the Gabba, Ash,” Paine said. “Can’t wait to get you to India, it’ll be your last series,” Ashwin replied on the spot.

Now the Indian off-spinner came up with a tweet to troll back Australian skipper and all the criticisms and abuses went around the Indian team in the last two weeks. He went on to add that this is a series to remember forever.
