A number of Pakistani national cricketers were tested COVID-19 positive. All-rounder Mohammad Hafeez was one of them. Although, the results of every cricketer were clear, there has been enough mystery regarding Hafeez’s test.

After Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced Hafeez had been tested positive, the all-rounder made another test at his own initiative and the result was opposite to board’s result. After a lot of questioning about the procedure, PCB decided to test again and Hafeez’s Covid-19 test has resulted positive again.

When he was tested positive, the cricketing fraternity was worried about his recovery. Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra tweeted,

“Arey yaar….confusion is synonymous with Pakistan cricket but this is taking it to an all-new level. Positive, negative, positive…all in 72 hours.”

“This is a very intriguing situation for the board. It will be interesting to see what is the result of the second test taken today of the 10 players, who tested positive in the first test earlier this week will come,” A source said.

“That is why he took a second test privately as a precautionary measure he had no intention to embarrass the authorities,” the source added while defending Hafeez.
