Harbhajan Singh played an important role for CSK this season.

It is quite a great feat for Harbhajan, a record which he will forever cherish for the rest of his life as he might call it quits from IPL anytime soon, considering his age factor. Well, CSK fraternity is proud to have such a great off-spinner.

Harbhajan achieved his feat against DC

Harbhajan Singh’s achievement came against Delhi Capitals in qualifier 2 match on Friday at Visakhapatnam venue. When the team needed wickets, Harbhajan Singh provided timely assistance as he chipped in with 2 scalps, dismissing Shikhar Dhawan and Sherfane Rutherford.

In the process, he went on to achieve the feat. Amit Mishra (DC) and Piyush Chawla (KKR) are the other two bowlers who took 150 wickets in IPL. Mishra took 147 games to take 157 wickets and Chawla took 150 wickets in 157 matches. Lasith Malinga is topping the charts with 169 wickets from 121 matches.

Chennai restricted Delhi to 147 making it quite easier for the CSK batsmen to finish off the show in style as CSK knock Delhi out of IPL by 6 wickets.

“This is a different format from the ones I have played in the past, and I have 150 odd wickets in this format, which is very satisfying. I’m competing with the young guys and going along just the way I have always gone about my bowling,” said Harbhajan, while talking about his achievement.

“This year I have got a lot of wickets, mainly because we played in Chennai which suited spinners a bit more. I bowled a lot of overs in the powerplay which is really tough in IPL, but if there is something in the wicket, then Dhoni wanted me to bowl in the powerplay and pick quick wickets,” added Harbhajan.
