Harbhajan bids farewell to Chennai Super Kings

Indian right-arm off-spinner Harbhajan Singh officially revealed that he is bidding farewell to the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings.

The official proceedings for the next edition of the Indian Premier League have started already and now the last-minute release and trade of players are happening at the moment. All the franchises are ordered to release their final retained players’ list by January 20th.

As a part of that process, Chennai Super Kings released their right-arm off-spinner Harbhajan Singh after having him three years with them. The off-spinner officially confirmed the news through his social media accounts and thanked the fans of CSK for the support and memories.

“As my contract comes to an end with @ChennaiIPL, playing for this team was a great experience..beautiful memories made &some great friends which I will remember fondly for years to come..Thank you @ChennaiIPL, management, staff, and fans for a wonderful 2years.. All the best,” Harbhajan Singh quoted.

The off-spinner was picked by the franchise in the mega auction that happened in 2018. He played 24 matches for the franchise and scalped 23 wickets. In the last season, he exited from the tournament that happened in the UAE, citing personal reasons.

The release of the off-spinner is an expected one, considering the state of the franchise in the last season. After having a poor season, CSK management revealed that the core squad will be revamped before the next season.
