Harbhajan chose Virender Sehwag and Matthew Hayden as the best opening pair while the middle-order comprises the likes of Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar and Jacques Kallis. The spinner showered his praise on the former Indian cricketer Dravid.

“He is the most dependable batsman that I’ve ever played against or bowled to. In any condition, whether you talk about playing fast bowling, seam bowling or spin, he had the technique to cope with it,” Harbhajan Singh spoke highly of Rahul Dravid.

Harbhajan picked Australia’s Ricky Ponting as the skipper of his side. Harbhajan added that Virat Kohli, Brian Lara and perhaps Kevin Pietersen were close for this slot but he went for Ricky Ponting in the first place.

Coming to the wicketkeeping role, he had picked Sri Lanka’s great Kumar Sangakkara over Adam Gilchrist. He highlighted that Adam Gilchrist was a great player but added that Sangakkara’s record can not be ignored. Sangakkara possesses a spectacular average of 57 in Tests.

As far as the bowling department is concerned, the veteran off-spinner picked three fast bowlers namely Shaun Pollock, Wasim Akram, and Glenn McGrath. Harbhajan picked just one spinner in his best Test playing XI and is none other than Shane Warne.
