Harbhajan reveals Watson kept playing with ridiculous injury

Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson almost took Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to their fourth IPL title with an injured leg.

The final of the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) ended in a cracking fashion where Mumbai Indians clinched a thriller against Chennai to clinch their 4th IPL title.

It was an even battle going right till the end and with Shane Watson hitting bowlers all over the ground, Chennai were well in course to grab their 4th title. But the run-out of Watson ended the dreams of MS Dhoni and his men.

Watson was absolutelty exceptional on the pitch and his firing knock of 80 runs were looking enough to take Chennai over the line. But it was not to happen in the end.

Meanwhile, Chennai off-spinner Harbhajan Singh revealed a heartbreaking incident via his Instagram that Watson continued to bat despite getting severally injured while diving during the beginning of his innings. He also revealed that Watson needed 6 stitches after the game.

Harbhajan posted a story on his Instagram with Watson’s picture and said – “Can you guys see the blood on his knee? He got 6 stitches after the game, got injured while diving but continue to bat without telling anyone. That’s our Shane Watson. Almost pulled it for us last night.”
