Harbhajan becomes first Indian cricketer to act in movie lead role
Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh is all set to make his acting debut. He will star in a Tamil film, Friendship.
Singh shared the poster of the film on Twitter which shows hands of two different men united by a single handcuff, and an empty ground in the backdrop.
It has been reported that that Singh would be playing the lead role in the film. It is also being said that this is for the first time that an Indian cricketer would be playing the lead role in a full-length feature film.

The film will be directed by John Paul Raj and Sham Surya. It is expected to hit the theaters in 2020, though the other cast of the movie is yet to be announced.
Before making his debut in movies as a lead role, Singh made a special appearance in the film, Second Hand Husband, starring Geeta. Earlier he also appeared in several reality TV shows apart from being regular analysts in cricket related shows.
Singh, as an off spinner, is the second-highest wicket taker in Test cricket after Sri Lankan great Muttiah Muralitharan. In all, he is one of the highest wicket-takers for India in history, bagging over 700 wickets across formats. He has been out of the Indian national cricket team since 2016, while he played his last Test in 2015.
