In a game where everyone struggled to score runs, it was AB de Villiers who unleashed his batting potential to the core. Dinesh Karthik’s side tried their maximum best to stop AB de Villiers but they were on the receiving end all the times.

AB de Villiers was named the man of the match as RCB beat KKR by 82 runs in a one-sided affair. Other than AB de Villiers, Aaron Finch, Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli chipped in with decent contributions – 47, 32 and 33 respectively.

AB de Villiers is a world-class player: Dinesh Karthik

At the post-match presentation, Dinesh Karthik himself confessed that it was hard to stop world-class player on a ground like this. However, KKR captain is pretty confident that they can bounce back on track.

“He (de Villiers) is a world-class player and hard to stop him on a ground like this and at the end of the day his innings was the difference between both sides. We need to sit down and make sure there are few things we need to do better. Batting is one area we didn’t do well today and that’s something we gonna try and improve. We have three days break and we need to start fresh after that.

It’s been an interesting IPL so far as a lot of teams are comfortable batting first. I think every captain has a day like this where everything doesn’t go according to plan and it’s one of those days for me, I don’t want to read too much into it,” Dinesh Karthik concluded.

After the match result, KKR are now fourth in the points table with four wins and three defeats. They will lock horns with defending champions, Mumbai Indians on October 16 in Abu Dhabi.

On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore are third in the points table with 5 wins and two defeats. They will take on the out-of-form Kings XI Punjab on this Thursday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.
