Hardik Pandya successfully underwent a lower-back surgery in UK. He suffered the injury during the last Asia Cup, but he played the World Cup with this injury.

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya is currently out of the field as he underwent a lower-back surgery which he suffered during the last Asia Cup. The surgery was long due and due to the World Cup in England, he held back from doing so.

After two weeks, Hardik’s situation will be assessed and then a decision will be taken on when he can come back to the field to play for India.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians’ owner Nita Ambani paid a visit in the hospital to meet his player. The young all-rounder posted on his Instagram thanking Nita, who he refers to as ‘bhabhi’ for paying a visit to London.

“Thank you Bhabhi for coming to meet me here in London. Humbled by your gesture. Your wishes and encouraging words mean a lot to me. You have always been an inspiration,” he posted with a picture.

India’s head coach Ravi Shastri insisted that he wants Hardik to play in all three formats of the game for India.

“His surgery was successful. We will know in two weeks’ time. Ideally, we want him in every format.”

India is currently playing their second Test against South Africa at home. Hardik missed the T20I series which ended in a 1-1-1 draw.
