After losing the tri-nation series final against Sri Lanka, they have also the Test series 1-0. But for Hathurusingha, the Test lost and the batting performance of Bangladesh shocked him more.

Hathurusingha told reporters on Sunday: “I was shocked after seeing Bangladesh’s batting. But they have the capability to perform better. You always have to be prepared well. You have to understand the strength of the team. If you are prepared well and you make plans according to your strength, I am not saying you will get success everywhere but you can become a competitive team then.”

When asked if he has made any difference: “I don’t bat and I don’t bowl either. I just explain things to my players.”

On Mirpur’s wicket: “In the last six months, many games were played here. It is difficult to make different wickets in this time. If you noticed, the wickets were breaking in almost every match of the tri-series. You need to give at least six months for making a Test wicket.”
