Hathurusinghe keeps ‘staying at SL’ questions unanswered

Sri Lanka head coach Chandika Hathurusinghe’s series against Bangladesh is likely to be his last as a Sri Lanka’s coach, according to reports.

Bangladesh will be facing their former coach Chandika Hathurusinghe’s Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series, starting from Friday. Before the start of the series, rumours were circulating that it will be Hathurusinghe’s last series as Sri Lanka’s head coach due to a poor show in the World Cup.

Things have turned more interesting as some sources claim that Hathurusinghe is the top candidate to become the head coach of Bangladesh once again.

However, Hathurusinghe ruled out the fact that it will be his last series with Sri Lanka and he said that no one has informed him about it yet.

“I don’t know that. No one told me that. As far as I am concerned, I haven’t heard from anyone who is relevant to me. Even if someone said that, it doesn’t affect our planning or the way we play cricket.”

The Sri Lanka coach also ensured that the rumours will not make any effect on him and he is fully determined for the series against his former side Bangladesh.
