Having Tamim is a big motivation for us: Nafeesa

In the last 2 seasons, Tamim Iqbal played for his home team Chittagong Vikings and on the other hand the skipper of Bangladesh Mashrafe Bin Mortaza played for Comilla Victorians.

Chittagong Vikings didn’t win a BPL trophy yet and so as Tamim Iqbal, but Mashrafe already had the opportunity to grab the trophy, not only once but thrice. He won two with Dhaka and one with the Comilla Victorians.

Its all changed now for the 5th edition of BPL. Mashrafe will play for Rangpur Riders while Tamim will play for Comilla Victorians. The fans of Comilla are disappointed to not get Mashrafe this time but the owner of Comilla Nafeesa Kamal is very happy to get Tamim as the icon player.

Nafeesa Kamal said in a press conference: “Having Tamim is a big motivation for us. He is a driving force for our team. He is in the form of his life. He is performing very well for the Bangladesh team.”

In the last 2 seasons, the openers weren’t good enough for the Victorians and this is the reason behind getting Tamim Iqbal, informed by the Comila owner: “To make our opening strong, we wanted Tamim. You saw in the last couple of season our team was struggling  in this position. That’s why we are expecting something big from him.”

The 5th edition of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will kick off on 3rd November. Seven teams will participate in this season. The first match will be between Sylhet Sixers and the defending champions Dhaka Dynamites at Sylhet International Stadium.
