Hetmyer heightened in Guyana’s first win

The second match of the Caribbean Premier League 2018 between Guyana Amazon Warriors and St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots showcased the antagonism between two premier batsman of the two teams in which Shimron Hetmyer overshadowed Christopher Henry Gayle thus cruised with his team to cross the winning margin by 6 wickets at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Hetmyer heightened in Guyana's first win

On winning the toss, the home team opted to field first against St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Therefore, Patriots’ innings featured by an orthodox Gayle knock. The ever entertainer buzzed on with 86 runs – the highest in the team’s total of 146 for 5, the total which could not be considered a competitive one anyway.

The Patriots would stretched to immense trouble had Gayle not fired the opposition bowlers; all the other batsmen eventually got out of the mark, failed to capitalize the captain’s knock by Gayle. Gayle lashed 7 fours and 5 sixes during his 65 ball knock.

After losing Luke Ronchi and Chadwick Walton early in the innings, Shoaib Malik enjoined Shimron Hetmyer in the middle; the later one continued till the end. Even after departure of Malik and Jason Mohammad, knocked the ball comfortably taking Amazon Warriors to touch the victory with more than three overs to spare.

Hetmyer hit 79 in 45 balls which included 9 fours and 4 sixes. Nepalese teen star Sandeep Lamicchanne though brightened team’s bowling being superbly economical as well as striking for prime wickets, it did not cost much to Guyana. Lamicchanne bagged Chadwick Walton and Jason Mohammad in his four over conceding only 12 runs. Sheldon Cottrell also claimed two.
