Windies’ tour of India has come to its end cards with only T20I series is remaining. So far Windies had a tough time in India since they lost both Test series and ODI series 0-2 and 1-3 respectively.

Even though Windies had a couple of good days in the ODI series, they failed to do so throughout the series and resulted in another series loss for the visitors.  But they made a good come back in ODIs compared to their performance in Test series.

After the conclusion of both series, the expectations on Windies are high for the T20I series in the tour since they are still masters in the format even in the absence of some of their star players like Chris Gayle.

To add a flavor for this Windies iconic players Kieron Pollard, Darren Bravo and Andre Russell were named in the T20 squad for the fixtures against India. But that joy didn’t last long for Windies since Russell has been ruled out of the series due to a knee injury.

He missed the Afghanistan Premiere League for the same reason and has failed to recover in time for this tour as well. Earlier there were some confusions went around him since the all-rounder didn’t arrive in India till the eve of the first T20I in Kolkata.

But Cricket West Indies confirmed on the eve that the all-rounder is ruled out of the T20I series for the same reason. Now Shai Hope has been named as the replacement for the all-rounder.

Shai Hope had some good runs with the bat in the concluded ODI series including one match-winning performance and one match-saving performance.
