I have never seen Kohli in devastating batting like Rohit – Virender Sehwag

Former India’s World Cup-winning team opener Virender Sehwag expresses his wonder about the batting of Rohit Sharma and says that even Indian skipper Virat Kohli doesn’t match him in terms of power hitting.

'I have never seen Kohli batting regularly like Rohit' - Virender Sehwag

He added that Rohit Sharma has taken himself to the level of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. What Rohit is doing, many people today cannot do.

“Sachin used to tell others if I can do something on the field, why can’t you? But he never understood that there’s only one God and the sort of things God can do, no one else can,” Sehwag said.

Rohit Sharma is leading the team in the T20 series against Bangladesh as Virat Kohli is at rest. With the help of marvellous batting by the Indian captain, India won the second T20 match comfortably by 8 wickets against Bangladesh. Rohit Sharma played a super knock of 85 run off just 43 balls.

Sehwag was impressed with Rohit’s batting and said: “Rohit is a calm person. There is something special in his movement. He also does not express aggression outside the field. However, his aggressive comes out when he takes the bat. I have never seen Kohli in such a devastating batting like Rohit.”

Sehwag added: “Hitting three or four sixes in one over or scoring 80-90 runs off 45 balls is an art. Like Rohit, I have never seen Kohli batting regularly like this.”

Rohit Sharma is the only batsman to score a maximum of three doubles in ODI cricket. Not only that, he also managed to score a personal best of 264 runs. Rohit has scored 27 centuries in 218 ODIs for India. He was the first batsman in the world to play 100 matches in T20 cricket with scoring a maximum of four centuries.
