I have not failed a fitness test in the last twenty years: Mashrafe

Injury has been constant companion for former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza throughout his whole career. However, despite the injury, Mashrafe claimed that he never ‘failed’ in the BCB fitness test. He also criticized those who have recently said that Mashrafe had been excluded from the national team due to fitness issues.

“I have never lost my fitness. I never said these things in front of the camera. I have heard many people say that Mashrafe may not be fully fit. I was then amazed at how much information they actually had. An outsider says it’s very normal. He can say many things without knowing.

“But those who are associated with the BCB are saying….very surprised! Do they actually keep any information or do office at all?,” Mashrafe said.

Mashrafe has claimed that he has passed all kinds of fitness tests since the beginning of his career. “I have been mentally set from the beginning of my career, if you are ever attacked in Bangladesh with something then what you are looking away will be your minus point,” the pacer said.

“No matter how many injuries I have, I have not failed a fitness test in the last twenty years. From 2001 to 2020, find me an example that I failed a fitness test. I passed everywhere e.g. Beep Test, the Strength Training Test etc. everything. Show me an example of fail. If you can, then talk.

“You ask Mario [Mario Villavarayen, former Fitness and conditioning trainer of Bangladesh]. If the cricket board does not have it, it is unprofessional. The cricket board should have that information must,” he added.
