Bangladesh Test captain Mominul Haque often suffers from indecision to take reviews. So, he’s become the headline of laughter many times taking wrong reviews. However, at a press conference on Saturday (May 13), Mominul said that if the decision of all the reviews is to be correct, he has to be a robot.
The wicketkeeper and the bowler have the most important opinion in the review. In this case, the captain's opinion is more important than the bowler's opinion. In many cases, if the wicketkeeper misunderstands, the decision is left to the captain.
However, in the last few series, Test captain Mominul has been confused about the reviews. Although the wicketkeeper often gave his opinion, the responsibility fell on his shoulders. The Bangladesh Test captain spoke on the issue before the first Test against Sri Lanka.
"I have to be a robot, I have no choice. I think bowler and keeper views are the best. If they give good feedback. I might be at mid-off position. A good decision can be made if the keeper and the bowler give good feedback,”
he said.
He added, "I have been successful in many reviews before. I think sometimes you should pay attention to these too. Occasionally maybe not. Not just me, all the captains in the world face it. I need some support for that.”
Mominul has a very good record in Tests against Sri Lanka. He has scored 884 runs in 17 innings. There are four centuries. However, he has not had a good time with the bat recently.
