I just hate playing against the Indians: Australia pacer
India and Australia will play in the final of the women’s T20 World Cup on Sunday, March 8. The two teams also faced each other in the opening match of the World Cup. Incidentally, the two teams are going to face each other in the final too.
Australia lost to India in the first match. Australia have a great chance to win the World Cup on their own country soil. So the revenge in the final is in front of Australia. Australia started the mind game about 48 hours ago before the final.
Aussie paceman Megan Schutt didn’t want to bowl Indian opener Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana. She made such a request to captain Meg Lanning. But why?
Last month, Shafali hit four in Schutt’s first ball in the tri-nation series. And in the same over, Mandhana hit a big six too. They scored 16 runs in the first over of Schutt.
And so Schutt said,
“I just hate playing against the Indians. They hurt me. I can’t forget that six in the tri-series. No one has ever hit such a big six in my career.”
“We definitely have some plans in place to stop the Indians,” Megan Schutt said before the final. “But all I can say is I don’t want to bowl them in the power play. Because both of them (Shafali-Mandhana) play me so easily.”
