I see shades of Saeed Anwar in his batting: Nehra lauds CSK all-rounder
Former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra has praised Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Moeen Ali much and compared his batting to Pakistan legend Saeed Anwar.
Moeen has been in superb form in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) as he’s already scored 206 runs in 6 matches with an average of 34.33 and also took 5 wickets with the ball. Nehra also added that CSK captain MS Dhoni has been utilizing the English very well.
“Moeen [Ali] is a very chilled out and relaxed person. I see shades of Saeed Anwar in his batting. He never seems under pressure. He is a utility player and MS Dhoni is utilising him really well,” Nehra told Cricbuzz.
“Before today, he was only scoring 30 or 40 runs but now he has crossed that. If a player like Moeen Ali, who can contribute with both bat and ball, provides you with 40-45 runs after every three or four matches; then things will work out in your favour,” he added.
CSK have been in great form also in IPL 2021 as they’re placed at second of the points table with 10 points. They will face Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their next match on May 5 in Delhi. However, the match is set to postponed as CSK camp have been affected with Covid-19 outbreak and they had already gone under quarantine for a week.
