Indian skipper Virat Kohli is a happy man now. He has done his job quite brilliantly as he helped the team win the series 3-0 before taking the rest. BCCI rested Kohli for the last two ODIs as well as the three-match T20I series. However he wishes the team to win the next 2 matches as well.

At the post match presentation, he spoke about his hectic schedule as he didn’t take a break for quite a long time. Having done the job so far, he says he cam relax and enjoy his break. “I haven’t had a break for a long time. It’s been a very hectic Australian tour and now I go on a break very happy 3-0 up sealing the series. I can relax and enjoy my brea,” the winning skipper added in a statement.

When asked about the youngsters coming in, Virat said India has a bright future as budding talents like Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill are making use of the chances to good effect. “I think there are some outstanding talents. We saw Prithvi Shaw grab the opportunity with both hands,” he said.

Talking about Shubman in particular, Kohli heaped praise on this sensational talent. According to Kohli, Shubman is an interesting prospect and he even openly admitted that he was not even 10% of him (Shubman) at the age of 19. “Shubman is a very exciting talent and I saw him bat in the nets and I was like wow I was not even ten percent of that when I was 19,” Kohli admitted.

This means that great talents are coming up and the future of Indian cricket is in safe hands now. “So, that’s the confidence that they carry and it’s great for Indian cricket, the standard keeps going up and the guys coming in can make those impact performances straightaway,” he said. Kohli said that the management is happy to help the youngsters by giving chances. “We are more than happy to give them chances and provide them the space to grow,” he ended.
