ICC gives more bad news to cricket fans


For the epidemic coronavirus situation, Bangladesh team’s Pakistan tour has been postponed. A few other series have had the same consequences before and after. ICC gives more bad news to cricket fans

ICC informed that all cricket events under them will be closed until June. That means, until June, the series or international tournaments that were supposed to be on the field also went to suspension.

As a result, Australia will not also come to Bangladesh in June. With this much-awaited series, there created a lots of gooseflesh in Bangladesh. A few days ago, the two-match Test series was finalized. But in the end, Australia’s tour of Bangladesh also suffered the same consequences of the Pakistan series and Ireland series.

Chris Tetley, Head of the Events of ICC, said:

“In the current situation, global health concerns are prevalent. Various governments around the world have imposed restrictions on aviation. In light of this, the ICC has decided to postpone all events until June, subject to further review.”

The T20 World Cup in Australia in October-November this year is also under threat due to coronavirus. The World Cup qualifying match have also been postponed. Similarly, the schedule of ICC World Test Championship has been randomized. The ICC, therefore, plans to include these two events in new fixtures.

In that case, the World Cup like Olympics could be a year behind. Some important decisions may be made at the next meeting of the ICC, which will be held through a video conference.
